Saginaw Power Steering Pump Torque & Adjustment Tool (spanner) & Spline Adapter

Here is a must have tool that we made to adjust the input shaft bearing preload on an an early 80's Chevy van with a Saginaw power steering pump.

This larger tool in the pictures allows for torquing the gland nut to the appropriate 30 ft-lbs torque and then backing it off the 1/2".  This should only be used for the adjustment and not initial disassembly.  Fits onto a 1/2" drive torque wrench.

The smaller tool in the pictures fits onto the splined end of the input shaft and allows for checking the running torque resistance of the input shaft after the gland nut is adjusted and when adjusting the output shaft preload.  This torque is to be 6 to 10 in-lbs of rotating (running) torque.  Fits onto a 1/4" drive beam style torque wrench.

These are 3D printed out of chemical resistant and durable materials.  We can make accommodations to these if your input shaft has the small diameter extension on the end (just give us the dimension).

Makes the adjustment fast and easy.

Works on Chevy, Ford, Jeep and any others with the Saginaw 708, 710 & 800 series steering box.  Box in the pictures is an 800 series and is not included but shown only for clarity on fitment and how it works.  Don't expect this to come with the steering box pictured.
